Lettuce dishes (for balancing pork)

My impression on my first tour to Korea is.... PORK is their stapple! I think it must be quite difficult for a Moslem to live there :P Thank God that I am an omnivore, I eat everything!

Korean has a healthy way to eat pork dishes, i.e. by wrapping it in lettuce!
This is the only dish I ate more during my Korea trip in 2007 ... Black pork (Indonesian: celeng, just like in Asterix-Obelix) in Jeju Island is the most delicious cuisine on the tour.

Here is a posting of all pork dishes, with different type of cooking (steamed, BBQ, with kimchi, with rice cake)... Wang Jokbal, Bo ssam, Ssam bap...

wang jok bal = pork with bean sauce
Steamed pork with kimchi (bo ssam)

3-step guide to eat Bo Ssam:
1) Take a leaf of fresh lettuce and put a slice of pork on it.
2) Next, garnish it with the kimchi.
3) Wrap it all up and pop it in your mouth at one go
ssam bap (with rice cake and kimchi)

Ssam Bab - meat (beef, pork or chicken) served with lettuce and rice balls (white or mixed grain).

Jal mogo yo! (Happy eating!)
